Germany Township Board of Supervisors

   The Germany Township Board of Supervisors are the governing body for the township. Their responsibilities are derived from the Second Class Township Code, which places the general supervision of the affairs of the Township in their hands. Supervisors are obligated to assume many from roles legislative to executive, and administrative capacities. The successful operation of a township requires the Board of Supervisors to perform the following duties:

• Enact regulations by ordinance or resolution to promote the welfare of the community.
• Establish Township policy.
• Meet with other officials, commissions and staff on issues of general government.
• Approve and adopt a budget.
• To establish, levy and collect taxes.
• General care, improvement and maintenance of Township roads and bridges.
• Street lighting and signage of Township roads.
• Infrastructure maintenance and planning
• Regulation of building and construction.
• Review of technical reports from engineers, planners and others.
• Participate in the inspection of specific problems within the Township.
• Report on the local government affairs to the citizens of the Township.
